Declutter & Donate
Important Covid-19 related notes: Everyone should bring hand sanitiser with them to use sensibly and keep to social distancing. If there is a local infection spike and we are pulled back into lockdown the event will be cancelled. If the weather looks really bad, we will postpone by a week.
Before: Email the Oundle Waste Less team (on [email protected]) by 9th July with your ‘stall’ location, what items you have and whether you are selling your items, giving them away for free or asking for a donation to your chosen charity and we’ll add you to our map which will be made available on 11th July (see below). Please promote the event/your stall through your own social media and other channels.
On the day: Set up by 10am. Put items on a table/hang them on your fence/gate or in a box outside your house (or in a suitable shared space, but they are still your responsibility at the end of the day) and either give them away for free, ask for donations for a charity close to your heart, or sell them for your own pocket. Feel free to team up with neighbours or friends and you can sell items, like plants or excess/seconds stock, which might usually be sold to raise some cash for a good cause. Items should be laid out on the stall so it is easy to see what they are with minimal handling, and if possible, have a way of reserving large items for later collection. Please take back any items left at the end of the day and let us know how much you raised.
Before: Get the map from the Oundle Waste Less facebook page, the Transition Oundle website (www.transitionoundle.org.uk) and some paper copies will be put outside the Coffee Tavern in the Market Place on 11th & 12th July.
On the day: Those who can should walk or bike around town – please only drive to pick up larger items at the end of the day. Bring cash for donations – no change will be given. Feel free stop for a drink, coffee or book in for lunch at those cafes, pubs and restaurants which have reopened by then, and make it a good day for Oundle Business too.
