Oundle School is not an ordinary boarding school, it is an exceptional one, and our Catering Department produces exceptional food to match. Our Catering team doesn’t serve up standard school dinners served buffet style, slowly wilting under heat lamps, they proudly serve up food created with care and attention from fresh produce, served family style to discerning but grateful customers. But it doesn’t stop there. With events through the year from sporting fixtures to black tie dinners to cater for, the role is constant, busy, varied and very rewarding.

Working for a boarding school comes with its challenges – producing four meals a day 33 weeks of the year isn’t easy – but it also comes with additional benefits. Lengthy holiday periods, every other weekend off, sociable hours – how nice would it be to regularly finish work at 7.30pm instead of 1am? Throw in opportunities for career progression, regular staff training and benefits including membership of the swimming pool and access to the School’s outstanding sporting facilities and who wouldn’t want to work here?

Due to the nature of the School, the role is to work just 41.4 weeks per year, for a salary of £23,672 per annum (FTE £26,540). Salary is based on a competitive hourly rate of £12.76, and reflects the lengthy holiday periods the role enjoys.
