- LIST ALL JOBS -, Voluntary & Charity (Temporary)
TEMPORARY JOB VACANCY on a short term research project for a local charity.
Volunteer Action is a small charity based in East Northants, providing services to vulnerable members of our local community.
We are looking for someone to join our team on a temporary basis who can run a short project collating and analysing views from our members and volunteers about our services.
What you will be doing
We will provide draft scripts but will want to work with you to improve them. There will be approximately 250-300 individuals to contact in the initial project. We anticipate each call to be about 15-20 minutes. Their answers need noting then analyzing, probably using an Excel spreadsheet to tease out details about how the service is valued, if there is ongoing demand, how we could improve the volunteer experience and many other aspects. You will need to design this spreadsheet and provide the analysis. This work can be done entirely from home. We will provide all necessary equipment. An enhanced DBS check will be needed, which we can arrange if required.
What skills or experience you need
• You must have a reassuring, confident and patient phone manner.
• A familiarity with working with older people or vulnerable groups is an advantage.
• You need good Excel skills to design, populate and analyse the information gathered.
• You will need to be able to summarise the information into a written report.
What else you need to know
Hourly rate is £10 and we anticipate the total project to be about 175 hours. We can agree the timeframe at interview, as you may wish to work part time.
You may choose to take a temporary employment position with us or you may be self-employed.
How to apply
Applications must be made in writing to include a CV and a covering letter. Email [email protected]
To comply with Safer Recruiting practices, your CV must have no time gaps. If you were unemployed, or at home with your children, you must include those dates. CVs which are incomplete will NOT be considered. Your covering letter is your opportunity to bring our attention to the skills and experience you have which will equip you for the job. Please set out how you intend to organize the project.
Deadline for applications is Friday 30th October at 2pm.
Interviews will be the morning of Friday 6th November by Zoom and will include a telephone role-play exercise
Subject to funding we may wish to extend this project or have other part time opportunities available later in the year.
