NCC Highways – Notice of Road Closure

Due to the concerns over the condition of the bridge structure on Station Road it is necessary to put in place a number of weight restrictions. To do this will require the installation of bollards to ensure that the bridge is protected and this can only safely be done under a road closure. On that basis the section of Station Road from the A605 to Nene Valley Brewery will be closed from the 25th March until the 29th March.

A plan showing the closure and the diversion can be viewed here https://roadworks.org?tm=112693749

If you require more information about the works please contact Adam Bradley on 01604 883400.

Funding Secured, Work to Commence

This week it was confirmed that funding for the North Bridge repairs has been secured from central government. The works are scheduled to start in early 2019 and be completed by the end of the year. The 3.5t weight limit and traffic restrictions for wide vehicles will soon be implemented and remain in place until the works have been completed.

Please find the relevant slides from the recent Extraordinary Town Meeting where the news on funding and latest progress was revealed.

Northamptonshire Highways has made the decision to proceed with the formal advertisement of the public notices associated with the imposition of 3 tonne structural weight limit on Oundle North Bridge, Station Road, Oundle.

In addition to the structural weight limit, the order will also include a width restriction for the full length of the bridge for vehicles wider than 2.1 metres. The proposals also include the revocation of the existing 18 tonne amenity weight limit on Mill Road, Oundle/ Barnwell Road, Barnwell.

The public notices will be advertised on the 3rd November in the Nene Valley news, which is the start of the 21 day objection period. The closing date for objections/ comments is the 26th November 2018 which need to be sent to the address stated on the Notice of Intent.
