Being a friend is one of the easiest ways to support the Oundle library – and it’s free! We always welcome new friends, so if you enjoy having a public library at Oundle, we invite you to join us.

As friends, our mission is to support the Oundle library by raising awareness and funds, and by giving back our energy and ideas.

Having a strong, high-profile Friends group is probably one of the best ways to protect our public library in the future. If it becomes clear that local residents really appreciate and enjoy the Oundle library, it will be harder for the board to close it.

The Friends of Oundle Library exists to:

Support and promote our library and the services it offers in our county.
Create connections in our community and encourage more people to use the library
Raise money to pay for things that will improve Oundle’s library offerings, such as furniture, equipment, or contest prizes.
Contribute ideas for the library’s program of events and activities
Represent the views and opinions of local residents and library visitors in any dealings with North Northamptonshire Library Service and North North Northamptonshire Council.

We also.

Produce a Scenes Around Oundle calendar each year that we sell to raise money .
Raise money throughout the year with events and appeals
Promote the Oundle Library in the local community, especially through our website and monthly newsletter.
Work with library staff and support them in any way we can.
